Generic DesOwen treats skin problems that are accompanied by itching, redness, and swelling.

Generic DesOwen acts by reducing irritation and itching on the affected areas of the skin.

Do not bandage or wrap the skin being treated unless directed to do so by your prescriber or health care professional. If your prescriber or health care professional has instructed you to use a dressing (covering) over Generic DesOwen, make sure you know how to apply it.

Do not get Generic DesOwen in your eyes. If you do, rinse it out with plenty of cool tap water.

Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of Generic DesOwen in children. Special care may be needed.

If you miss a Generic DesOwen dose
If your doctor has ordered you to use Generic DesOwen on a regular schedule and you miss a dose, apply it as soon as possible. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose of Generic DesOwen and apply it at the next regularly scheduled time.

Generic DesOwen Overdose
Generic DesOwen in excess can lead to serious consequences.

Large doses of Generic DesOwen applied over a large area, and long-term use of these preparations, especially when the treated areas are covered, can cause increases in blood sugar or sugar in the urine, Cushing\'s syndrome (a condition characterized by a moon-shaped face, emotional disturbances, high blood pressure, weight gain, and, in women, growth of body hair), and effects on the adrenal gland, pituitary, and hypothalamus.

Keep out of the reach of children.
Store Generic DesOwen away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze. Throw away any unused amount of Generic DesOwen after the expiration date.

Tell your prescriber or health care professional about other skin products you are using. Do not apply Generic DesOwen at the same site as other skin preparations without advice.

The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of Generic DesOwen. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

• Diabetes mellitus (sugar diabetes) - Too much use of Generic DesOwen may cause a loss of control of diabetes by increasing blood and urine glucose. However, this is not likely to happen when Generic DesOwen is used for a short time
• Infection or sores at the place of treatment, or
• Tuberculosis - Generic DesOwen may make existing infections worse or cause new infections
  

Generic DesOwen precautions if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
When used properly, Generic DesOwen has not been shown to cause problems in humans. Studies on birth defects have not been done in humans. However, studies in animals have shown that Generic DesOwen when applied to the skin in large amounts or used for a long time could cause birth defects.

Generic DesOwen has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies when used properly. However, Generic DesOwen should not be applied to the breasts just before nursing.

Special warnings about Generic DesOwen
If an irritation develops, or if your skin condition does not heal within 2 weeks, inform your doctor.

Avoid covering a treated area with waterproof diapers or plastic pants. They can increase unwanted absorption of Generic DesOwen.

Do not take Generic DesOwen if you have fungal, viral or tubercular infection.

Generic DesOwen may interfere with the growth and development of children; they should be given the lowest strength that provides effective therapy. Safety and effectiveness of Generic DesOwen in children have not been established.

More common side effects of Generic DesOwen may include:

• burning,
• stinging
• itching or redness

Less common side effects of Generic DesOwen may include:

• blood-containing blisters on skin,
• increased skin sensitivity,
• lack of healing of skin condition,
• numbness in fingers,
• painful, red or itchy, pus-containing blisters in hair follicles,
• raised, dark red,
• wart-like spots on skin, especially when used on the face
• skin infection,
• thinning of skin with easy bruising usually mild and transient
• burning, dryness, irritation, itching, or redness of skin,
• increased redness or scaling of skin sores,
• skin rash
