Pamelor (Nortriptyline) is an antidepressant.

Pamelor is prescribed for the relief of symptoms of depression. Pamelor is one of the drugs known as tricyclic antidepressants.

Your doctor will monitor your response to Pamelor carefully and will gradually increase or decrease the dose to suit your needs.

The usual starting dosage of Pamelor is 25 milligrams, 3 or 4 times per day.

Pamelor should not be taken with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor antidepressant (MAOI). Treatment with nortriptyline should not be started until 2 weeks after stopping a MAOI.

• cimetidine
• fluoxetine
• quinidine
