Most Important Fact about Asendin
Asendin must be taken regularly to be effective and it may be several weeks before you begin to feel better. Do not skip doses, even if they seem to make no difference.

Asendin precautions if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

The safety of Asendin during pregnancy has not been established. Seek medical advice from your doctor.

Asendin passes into breast milk. It is recommended that mothers should avoid using Asendin while breastfeeding. Seek medical advice from your doctor.

Special warnings about Asendin
Asendin blood levels may be increased by cimetidine.

Asendin blood levels may be decreased by barbiturates.

Asendin should not be taken with monoamine oxidase inhibitor antidepressants (MAOIs) as it may result in serious reactions occurring.

There may be a large increase in blood pressure when Asendin is taken with adrenaline or noradrenaline. These medicines should not be used together.

Asendin will decrease the blood pressure lowering effect of clonidine.

Serious reactions may occur when amoxapine is taken with lithium.

When Asendin is taken with other anticholinergic medications such as hyoscine there is an increase in side effects such as dry mouth, urinary retention and constipation.

Why Asendin should not be prescribed ?
Asendin should not be used if you suffer from severe liver disease, arrhythmias (irregular heart beats), heart block (defect of the heart\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s electrical message pathways resulting in decreased function of the heart) or if you have had a heart attack recently.

Asendin should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.

If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using Asendin and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
