Beclovent Inhaler is not a bronchodilator medication as it does not quickly open the airways and it should not be used for relief of asthma when bronchodilators and other nonsteroid drugs prove effective. Do not expect immediate relief by using Beclovent Inhaler , and do not take higher doses in an attempt to make it work. It is not intended for rapid relief, but it will help control symptoms when taken routinely.

Beclovent Inhaler precautions if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
The effects of Beclovent Inhaler in pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, let your doctor know. Beclomethasone may appear in breast milk and could harm your baby. Your doctor may want you to avoid breastfeeding while you are using Beclovent Inhaler

Special warnings about Beclovent

• You should not suddenly stop using Beclovent Inhaler unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
• The mouth should be rinsed out with water after each dose of Beclovent Inhaler , to prevent the development of oral thrush.
• Beclovent Inhaler may cause an unexpected increase in wheezing (paradoxical bronchospasm) straight after using them. If this happens, stop using Beclovent immediately and consult your doctor. The medicine should be stopped and an alternative treatment found.
• Children who are receiving long-term treatment with Beclovent Inhaler should have their height regularly monitored, since high doses of corticosteroids taken for long periods of time can impair growth in children.
• Beclovent is known as a preventer and should be used as a regular medicine to prevent asthma attacks. Beclovent Inhaler should not be used to relieve an asthma attack as it will not work for this purpose. Make sure you carry your reliever inhaler with you at all times to relieve an asthma attack if it happens. Consult your doctor if you need to use your reliever more frequently than normal, or if it becomes less effective at treating attacks.
• When taken for long periods of time at high doses, corticosteroids have the potential to cause glaucoma, cataracts, thinning of the bones (osteoporosis), growth retardation in children and adolescents, and to decrease the functioning of the adrenal glands (glands that produce certain hormones). For this reason your doctor will prescribe the lowest effective dose for your symptoms, and monitor for these side effects.
• Blood potassium levels should be monitored in people with severe asthma, as low oxygen levels in the blood (hypoxia) and various asthma medicines, including Beclovent can lower blood potassium.

Why Beclovent should not be prescribed ?
Your doctor will prescribe Beclovent Inhaler only if your asthma cannot be controlled with bronchodilators and other nonsteroid medications.

Beclovent Inhaler is not used for the treatment of non-asthmatic bronchitis, or for intermittent asthma therapy.

Do not use Beclovent Inhaler if you've recently had nasal ulcers, nose surgery, or an injury to the nose. It could interfere with the healing process.

If you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to beclomethasone or other steroid drugs, you should not use Beclovent Inhaler . Make sure that your doctor is aware of any drug reactions that you have experienced.
