Combining Generic Erythromycin 500 mg with lovastatin (Mevacor) can cause severe muscle wasting and damage to the kidneys. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Generic Erythromycin 500 mg with the following: Benzodiazepines such as Halcion and Versed, Blood-thinning drugs such as Coumadin, Bromocriptine (Parlodel), Carbamazepine (Tegretol), Cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral), Digoxin (Lanoxin), Dihydroergotamine (D.H.E. 45), Disopyramide (Norpace), Ergotamine (Cafergot), Hexobarbital, Seizure medications such as Depakene, Depakote, and Dilantin, Tacrolimus (Prograf), Theophylline (Theo-Dur).
